Keeping your removable retainers clean with a toothbrush and toothpaste is very important. You may want to soak them in water and then use a dry toothbrush to clean out any debris. Mouthwash (Scope or Listerine) will not harm the retainers.

As well as thorough toothbrushing, flossing of your teeth is recommended.

If you have a fixed retainer you should use superfloss or floss treaders beneath the fixed retainer so that the gums are kept in a healthy condition.
