BrushingDr. Davis encourages his patients to follow these guidelines for maximum oral health and comfortable orthodontic treatment. Always remember to brush your braces thoroughly after every meal. Remember that even a small snack can cause stains or discoloration of your teeth if food particles are not properly removed. If you are unable to brush your teeth, try rinsing your mouth with water to loosen food. Maintain a regular dental cleaning schedule with your family dentist to ensure optimum oral hygiene and prevention of cavities. When brushing, use circular motions to get around the brackets to remove all plaque and foods. It is very important to brush your gums. Irritated gingiva may bleed; this will get better the more times you brush. Always brush underneath the brackets closest to the gums. This is the area that is mostly missed by âquickâ brushing. ![]() Office Hours M-Th 8:00-12:30, 2:00-5:00 Office Phone 803-739-1600 (West Columbia Office) 803-534-9555 (Orangeburg Office) ![]() |
